School Student Scholarship Program 2008
In conjunction with state unions, the ARU sponsors a School Student Scholarship Program. Participation in the program is through nomination by state unions. The program is aimed at school aged referees (years 11 & 12) who are identified as referees with the potential to continue their refereeing once they leave school and who have the potential to advance to at least senior levels in their own state or region. Participants are provided with a structured developed program through their state referee organization. A small number are also provided with the opportunity to participate in national championships. There are 37 scholarship holders for 2008, including Cynn Howlett a female student referee from Townsville. There are 12 from NSW, 13 from QLD, 6 from ACT, 4 from WA and 2 from VIC.
