Qantas Wallabies Rewards Program
In 2008, Australian Rugby Union created some great opportunities for Rugby players and coaches to have exclusive access to our flagship team the Qantas Wallabies. Opportunities were available in all Test Match cities, in the lead up to each game. 2009 will see an expansion of the oppoortunities, these include;
Test Week Opportunities
Junior Club Training Visit : Exclusive participation for 1 Junior Club (per test) to have Qantas Wallaby players attend a junior training evening at their club.
Train and Play: Exclusive participation for a limited number of current registered junior rugby players (6–16 years old) to train and play with the Qantas Wallabies for a one hour session.
School Session 1st XV: Exclusive participation for a number of school 1st XV players to attend a Qantas Wallabies training session with one player per team nominated to participate in the training session.
School Training Session Visit: Exclusive participation for a High School to have the Qantas Wallabies visit their school and run their training session on your school oval.
Coaches Training Session Visit : Exclusive access to selected coaches to attend a Qantas Wallabies training session. Qantas Wallabies coaches conduct a Q & A session with invitees pre and post training session.
EdRugby Values Forum: School students and teachers can attend a nominated High School (one conducted in each State per Test), to hear from members of the Qantas Wallabies share their insights about a range of values in sport and life including teamwork, positive role models, National pride, leadership and sportsmanship..
Test Match Opportunities
Bledisloe Cup Relay: Players from juniors to seniors to carry the Bledisloe Cup on the field of play, as part of the Bledisloe Cup Relay, prior to Teams Entry.
Junior Wallaby: 1 x match ball runner per test to enter field of play and place the match ball on half way line prior to Teams Entry, staying for the National anthems.
Guard of Honour: 2 x teams per Test to enter field of play for Teams Entry and form a guard of honour for both participating nations as they run out. teams stay on the field for the National anthems.
Walla & Mini Matches: 4 x teams per test to enter field of play (2 x Walla, 2 x Mini) and participate in a game of Walla and Mini prior to the team’s warm up, staying on the field to watch the Qantas Wallabies warm up.
Details of the opportunities in the week leading up to and including the Test Match in your State will be released early in 2009.
