Australian Sevens star Richard Kingi will be in action again this weekend in South Africa.

The Australian Sevens team is aiming to defend unbeaten records against Georgia and the USA when the latest round of the IRB Sevens World Series kicks off tomorrow (Friday) night Australian time in George, South Africa.

Australia has been drawn in Pool B alongside host nation South Africa and two countries against which the Australians have perfect head-to-head records.

In IRB Sevens tournaments, Australia has won all four matches against Georgia stretching back to 2002, accumulating 119 points and conceding just 7 in the process.

The record against USA is even more impressive, with the Australians recording 12 successive wins over the Americans since their first clash in 1999.

On the most recent occasion the two nations met – at the International Rugby Sevens Adelaide in April – the Australians won 31-19.

However, toppling the home side South Africa will present a major challenge to the young and inexperienced squad Australian coach Michael O’Connor has assembled for the Sevens circuit.

The South Africans are the form side having won the opening leg of the Sevens World Series in Dubai last weekend.

Along the way South Africa downed Australia 19-0 in a semi final.

The overall win-loss record between the two countries over the past eight years also stands at 21-13 to the South Africans.

“The experience in Dubai will do wonders for our guys,” O’Connor said as the Australians continued preparations for the George tournament which opens at 8.37pm (AEST) with Fiji taking on Scotland.

“They played in front of massive crowds of almost 50,000 and for almost all of them it was a unique experience.”

The Australians will play Georgia at 9.11pm Friday (AEST), USA at 2.17am Saturday (AEST) and South Africa in the final game of day one at 5.38am on Saturday (AEST).

The four pools of the tournament are as follows with the top two in each group advancing to the Cup quarter finals on day two:
