Kurtley Beale lived up to the hype in his fi rst year of senior football, playing ten matches for the Waratahs before representing Australia A and taking out player of the series honours in the Australian Rugby Championship. Beale made his Super 14 debut at Ellis Park in round one of the 2007 season and soon proved himself up to the challenge, starting six games for the year. He returns in 2008 stronger and heavier and on course for bigger things again.
