2007 was a defining year for Matt Dunning which saw his re-emergence as both a genuine Test and Super 14 player. Entering the year with a goal to increase both bulk and game time Dunning did both despite missing the start of the Super 14 with a knee injury. He played nine games for the Waratahs after returning to the fi eld in week five and finished the year as first choice Wallaby loose head prop, starting all four of his matches at the Rugby World Cup in France.
