A talented rugby player at schoolboy level, Berrick had a two year stint with the Broncos before joining the Reds in 2006. Berrick’s ability to take the ball to the line, his recise passing and kicking won him selection for the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France. Rushed into the starting side against Wales at 24 hours notice after making his debut just a week earlier against Japan, he set up a try and kicked a drop goal in a performance of impressive maturity.
