Adam Clarke’s recent discovery that his Mum’s father was born in South Australia was all he needed to clear the red tape, leave New Zealand and join the Western Force as understudy to Matt Henjak. He trialled with the NZ U21s in 2005 and the Highlanders in 2007, and won 16 caps for Southland in the Air New Zealand Cup before heading west. A courageous defender with a strong work ethic, Clarke has also represented the Southland Maoris and the South Island Maoris over the past four years.
